According to the ASWNMU website and its constitution, the purpose of student government is to represent the students’ interests, safeguard academic freedom and student rights, provide campus events and activities, and promote student morale.

Francisco Estrella es nacido en Douglas, Arizona, pero fue criado en Agua Prieta, Sonora. Tiene varios trabajos en campus. Estrella forma parte de ASWNMU, que es el cónsul estudiantil de WNMU. Fue fundador y presidente de un equipo de Great Race 52, Valhalla. En la preparatoria, Estrella tenía un profesor, que se llama el Profesor
