Book Store 1

Check Out The WNMU Bookstore

One thing students may take for granted is the campus bookstore. There when you need it, out of mind when you don’t.  But bookstore employees are getting ready for the end of the semester, and are offering a number of deals for students.

“The buyback program is all semester, but the biggest time is the end of the semester after finals.” Bookstore manager Zack Serowic said, “That’s the best time to sell your books back because students can get more money.” But the preparation goes beyond this semester, and Zack and his employees are already gearing up for the spring. The last thing many students may want to do right now is think about the spring semester yet alone new text books, but the book store will be ready for when the time comes.

“We’re talking to the faculty to see what books they’re going to use so that we can have them in stock for next semester. The beginning of a semester is our busiest time so we’re going through the process of hiring temporary staff for the spring to help students find their books and so we can have extra cashiers.”  These are just a few things that the bookstore is doing to make sure students are ready for the next round of classes. One tip that Zack offered is to rent used text books.

“Renting a used text book can be 50% or even 70% the price of buying new books. This is the best option for those classes where you’re never going to use those books again.”

Those aren’t the only savings and specials to be aware of. Flash sales are fairly common occurrence to look for and this semester there have been flash sales once a month. One such flash sale is coming up on the 17th and 18th. Another interesting special is offering a 10% discount on Fridays during football season for students who pay with Mustang Dollars.

“We are pushing to extend this into basketball season and beyond. However there is a difference between Mustang Dollars and Flex Dollars.”

The bookstore does not accept Flex Dollars but that could be a possibility in the future. Students can keep an eye out for fliers around campus or follow the Bookstore on Facebook to say informed of flash sales that could occur at any time.  Whether you buy or rent your textbooks, or need supplies or WNMU gear, you can be sure that the bookstore will have you covered. Just remember to return your rented text books on time (December 16th).
