Community Connections: Bringing Early Childhood Programs and Community Together

On Wednesday, October 9, the Child Development Center (CDC) and Growing Tree had their first Community Connections event. The CDC staff invited community businesses and organizations to come in and interact with families and any community members who attended. Teachers had the opportunity to choose their community connection based on their current curriculum. Children would connect to whoever was in their classroom, since they are learning about that topic. This event was also to inform parents of resources they can use within the community.

Some businesses and organizations that attended Community Connections included:

  • Family Counseling Center
  • WNMU Miller Library
  • Amplified Therapy
  • Beck Family Dental
  • Wilderness Ranger District
  • Silver Soccer Team
  • The Math Club
  • DJ Thai Tech
  • Art Department
  • Beginning Years

The Child Development Center is an accredited lab site for children of WNMU students, staff, faculty, and community.
