Silver City, NM- The second event of the forty-eighth Great Race occurred Tuesday April 15. The event, King of The Mountain tests the teams ability to push their racer up Cardiac Hill by Ritch Hall. The first place winner of the race was team Cs get Degrees, second place was Bomb Squad, Third place, Little Rascals, and fourth place Mad Scientists. After the event students were welcome to eat Indian tacos and relax. Western New Mexico University student Samantha Garcia, kart driver for team Cs get Degrees said ” I liked driving because it was fun and scary. When everyone got together and was pushing I was less scared. This is my third year participating in Great Race and my first time driving. I was happy our team got first place.”
Great Race events will be happening all week and have been planed by planned by Mustang Entertainment. The Western New Mexico University Facebook page has a list of all the events happening this week.
