Welcome Back WNMU Students

Welcome back to all WNMU students! We hope everyone had a great break from school work and we are excited to announce the upcoming events at the start of this spring semester. Coming back to school after having time off can be difficult, but WNMU is here to make it easier for you with fun and educational opportunities.

Student Life is hosting a variety of events for Welcome Week, so don’t forget to stop by to each event because students are guaranteed to have a great time!

  • Meet new people at the Ice Cream Social & Archery Tag tonight from 7- 8:30 pm in the Intramural Gym. Start forming a team with your friends or make new friends in six on six archery tag!
  • Glow in The Dark Dodge Ball will light up your first week back! The event will be held in the Intramural Gym Wednesday night from 7- 8:00 pm.
  • Get your game face on and grab a friend to be your partner for the Water Pong Tournament this Thursday from 7- 8:00pm in the Intramural Gym.
  • Student Life will be finishing off Welcome Week with a Pool Party on Friday at 7:00 pm at the swimming pool! There will be free wings provided for pool party attendees!

The Mustang is excited to announce that We Banjo 3 will be having a concert on January 31st at 7:00pm in Light Hall! We Banjo 3 is a bluegrass band from Ireland and they have received a lot of well deserved positive attention for their fourth studio recording, Haven, which reached #1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Chart the week of August 13th and was # 1 again the week of November 4th.  Haven has received many rave reviews including 4 STARS from Irish Times. We Banjo 3 has developed a loyal following in the United States, Ireland, and other parts of their world due to their joyous and engaging live shows!

The tickets will be FREE for WNMU students, faculty, and staff with Mustang ID. Tickets for community members will be $15. Tickets can be purchased online or at the WNMU Office of Cultural Affairs located in Hunter Hall.

The video for their first single “Light in the Sky” can be found here:

If you’re feeling hungry and you’re also feeling extra broke, check out our campus food pantry! Student Life has created food pantry for student use located in the P.E. complex for food, jackets, blankets, and toiletries. They are open thirty hours per week, six days a week, which is doubling their previous hours! If you would like to donate to the campus food pantry to help distribute to the hungry on campus, please contact Student Life.

Don’t forget this Friday the 18th is the last day to add, audit, drop or waitlist a course! Make sure to get everything in order before Friday because there will be dis-enrollment for students with nonpayment.

Start off this semester right by asking questions, getting your homework done, and getting to class on time!
