Featured musicians were Joe Chavez, Anna Daggett, Tausha Schysm,Peter Levine, Miguel Narvaez, Jaime Ramirez, Michael Barnes, Paul Hotvedt, Byron Trammell, Nelson Williams, and Rich Hawel.

Western New Mexico University student Atziry Apodaca said “The annual Jazz concerts at Western New Mexico University are important because the concert shows the community what the music program is all about and shows potential students what WNMU has to offer. I also really liked how tonight’s concert went, and the new way they set up the chairs allowed audience members to get more involved with the music.”

Western New Mexico University Professor Takahiro Sato mentioned after the concert “I think my favorite thing about the concert is everyone coming together. Music Professor Danny is a really good leader and instructor as well as a good musician. The diversity of the students playing Jazz made it fun. The concert show’s what opportunities Western has.” According to the Music Department there will be another Jazz concert coming in May.
