Letters to Santa

WNMU Mailroom welcomed the Child Development Center to have “Letters to Santa”

On Tuesday, December 10, the WNMU Mailroom and the Child Development Center (CDC) hosted their first “Letters to Santa” event. The mailroom allowed the CDC children, staff, and families to come in and mail their letters to the North Pole. The mailroom staff stamped their letters and the children inserted them into the mailbox directly to the North Pole. The Mustang Newspaper staff dressed as elves and gave the children Christmas pencils and stickers.

Emily Salgado, a teacher from the CDC, said “I thought the event was age appropriate for our children. I like doing things on campus. It was really well thought out, and just enough for what the children could handle. They were able to see how the envelope was being stamped and hear the noises the machine made. It was a good idea to utilize the resources we have on campus.”

Luis Chavez, fellow Mustang writer and one of Santa’s elves, said, “It was nice to see the kid’s excitement to send their letters to Santa. It was fun talking to the kids about what elves and Santa do in the North Pole.”
