Silver City, NM- ASWNMU (Associated Students of Western New Mexico University) hosted an open house for incoming Freshmen on Thursday, August 18 on the third floor of the Student Memorial Building. 
Around thirty organizations showed up to the event, including the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor’s Society, the Delta Mu Delta International Honors Society in Business, the Magic Club and the Center for Gender Equity.
The event was organized by ASWNMU Treasurer Tim Stillman and the Vice President of the Associated Students, Dylan Kester. Aside from being a hub for students to learn about what the university had to offer them, the event also provided 83 pizzas from Little Caesars for the prospective club members. Aside from the free food, each student that joined a club received a raffle ticket that could earn them one of two $100 dollar scholarships courtesy of 
student government.
