DENVER, Colo. – Despite collecting 12 hits on Saturday, Metro State University Denver took both games from the Western New Mexico University softball team by the same score of 9-1 in five innings in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.

In the first game, The Lady Roadrunners (14-6, 6-2 RMAC), currently receiving votes in the latest NFCA Poll, put a string of runs together starting in the second. MSU Denver tallied three in the second and third innings and then added two in the fourth for an 8-0 lead.

WNMU (10-15, 7-7 RMAC) tallied their run in the fifth when Alicia Enriquez (Gilbert, AZ/Mesquite) kept the game going with a two out single up the middle. Linzy Granger (Carlsbad, NM/Carlsbad) then doubled on the first pitch down the left field line to set the table for Mariangela Garcia (Tucson, AZ/Desert View).
