After attending the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI), Davis attended WNMU for more than year until he was drafted to go to Guam. While in charge of a hospital in Guam, Davis served as a non-commission officer.

After his tour of duty, Davis returned to WNMU to finish his major. The reason why Davis had decided to attend WNMU in the first place is because of its great science program. As a student, Davis was also in charge of the University’s newspaper, The Mustang, and its finances from 1956 to 1958. In 1958, Davis graduated from WNMU with a degree in sciences and biochemistry.

Born in Catron County, New Mexico, Davis worked for many government jobs, including the U.S. Drug and Food Administration, which made three cases go to the Supreme Court. Other jobs included a pro-state researcher, and a contractor.

Davis was invited to attend the WNMU Homecoming game and participated in WNMU’s parade.
