April 28 is National Superhero Day. This special day of super powers was created in 1995 by Marvel Comics employees. Plenty of fictional stories, movies, and video games include the main characters with superpowers, the ability of humans or creatures to possess superhuman abilities. Superman, Spiderman, and Captain America are a few superheroes in popular culture that own phenomenal skills. With this said, we asked WNMU students these questions, “If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be? Super name? Purpose?”
Here are their responses:
Kayla Noriega is majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology. She said, “My super power would be to read people’s true emotions. This is different from reading minds. People are too afraid to share their true emotions. I know this is really deep and probably not as fun as many others, but I would want a power that may let me help others who are struggling. My super name would be The Empathizer. My motto would be to help those who are hiding their true selves!”
“If I were a superhero, my power would be time travel. My name would be Only Time Will Tell. My purpose would be to go back in time or ahead of time to change the outcomes of events,” said Miranda Simjian, a student who is majoring in Nursing.
Sophia Rodriguez is a WNMU Cross Country Team Member, said, “If I were a superhero, my superpower would be super strength. My super name would be Dr. Strong. My purpose would be to save the day using my super strength to save people by lifting cars and heavy objects off of people. My motto would be, “No need to fear, Dr. Strong is here!”
