Hello Mustangs! My name is Eve Thomas and I am the new editor of The Mustang. I am really excited for this school year and the many new opportunities it will bring. This is my senior year at Western New Mexico University and I have loved so much of what this university has taught me. If you ever want to find me to talk about a story idea, you will probably see me in the Social Sciences department where I am studying Sociology and minoring in Political Science.
I have been involved in many areas at this university including cheering on our athletes as a WNMU cheerleader, serving as a member of Student Government, being the president of the American Association of University Women club on campus, working as a Student Coordinator at The Center for Gender Equity and Social Justice, and most importantly, being a student. I have always loved to write, so I was thrilled when I was given this opportunity to be the new editor and to become more involved with the university.
In the 1950s my grandparents met and fell in love on this campus and I am very proud to be attending the same school that they did and continuing on with their legacy. I probably wouldn’t be here without this university, so it is a place that is very close to my heart. We have lots of great story ideas this year that I can’t wait to share with you!
