Silver City, NM- Mustang Entertainment kicked off this years Homecoming Festivities with a stirring round of “Finish the Lyric.” Students gathered into four teams in a game that was set up like the classic game show Jeopardy. Representatives of four teams of four would take the stage and categories included such 90’s/2000’s R&B, Today’s Hits, Disney, 90’s Rap, and a miscellaneous category that included a little bit of everything.
The rounds would start off with a snippet of the selected song playing before abruptly cutting-off, giving the contestant the opportunity to finish the lyric. Selections included songs from Disney hits like Moana and Frozen, The Notorious B.I.G classic “Juicy” and some of today’s most popular tracks such as “Wild Thoughts” from DJ Khaled and Rihanna and “Feels” by Calvin Harris ft. Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and Big Sean.
After many rounds, the game came down a lightning round between the teams one and three, with Ashantae Harry and Kai’Naja “2k” Walton battling for the win, with the round ultimately going to Team 3. Prizes for the winning team were four gift baskets featuring assorted candies.
Homecoming Festivities will continue on throughout the week, with the Homecoming Fiesta Night happening Tuesday Night at 6pm.
