Silver City, N.M.- Born in Suffolk, Virginia, Matt Homell came to Western New Mexico University to play football. The junior quarterback, who previously played Junior College in California, came to WNMU because he felt this was the “best opportunity to play ball” for his football career.
He is currently majoring in Business and plans to get his master’s in Business Administration here at WNMU. Homell’s plan after college is to coach at a collegiate level or open up his own business as an entrepreneur.
Homell previously ran for student government back at his hometown high school and now is currently campaigning for ASWNMU Senate.
When being asked what qualities or personalities does he offer, Homell says that he is “extremely determined and very passionate in everything he does.”
“Every aspect of life is ran through passion”, said Homell, “Anything I can help towards (school related issues), I am willing.”
Not only is Homell caring towards the school, but to the students as well. He would like to see more student involvement and see people want to attend western and bring pride to school.
In his closing statement on why you should vote him into Senate he says, “I will do anything I can with the position to impact the school and to positively impact the student body.”
You can vote for Matthew Hommell and the other 14 candidates that are running for Senate through Mustang Express. The election will take place beginning on April 13.
