Silver City, NM- The School of Nursing and Allied Health are hosting a Sonoran Hot Dog Party this Tuesday from 12pm -1pm at the Nursing Building. The outreach event will provide an opportunity for students to receive free food, mingle with faculty and staff from the Nursing and Allied Health Departments and visit with students studying Nursing, Kinesiology, Rehab and Rehabilitation Services.
The schools of Nursing and Allied Health have merged this year. The Nursing Program is of course for men and women that would like to break into the medical field and study Nursing, while the Allied Health programs specialize in Health Care and Human Services, focusing on a wide-variety of fields including counseling, sports medicine, physical therapy and more.
“Our programs are generally for helping people in general,” Allied Health Director Dr. Ben Jenkins said. “If you are interested in healthcare and human services, we have something for you.”
Most of the programs can be taken entirely online, with participants in classes hailing from all over the world.
The Sonoran Hot Dog Party will be held outside the School of Nursing and Allied Health Building on Tuesday starting at noon. There is no cost for a plate, but participants are asked to RSVP through their Facebook Page, found HERE. For more information you can visit them on the main page at alliedhealth.wnmu.edu.
