Silver City, NM- What a better way to launch a fundraiser than a delicious bake sale; the WNMU tennis team gave their first attempt at a bake sale on Wednesday, November 16. The team managed their decorated booth and sold cheesecake, cookies, brownie cheesecake, and cooked crepes on an electric stove.
The team hopes to raise more funds- due to their small size and their coach leaving, they require equipment and traveling funds more than ever. Team member Emma Siboni was in charge of flipping the fresh crepes on the stove while Jeanne Kolb prepared the dessert according to the customer’s choice, the options ranging from nutella, banana, whipped cream, etc.
“We [referencing to her fellow teammate, Emma Siboni] decided to make crepes because it’s a signature dessert from our home in France,” quotes Kolb.
Nadia Justiniano was in charge of selling her own baked goods, with cookies packaged in cute plastic bags and pies decorated with delicious fruit.
The WNMU Tennis team hopes to launch another bake sale if this one acquires the funds needed.
