Silver City, NM- There’s a new restaurant in town that students and staff are sure to love. Located in the Hub Plaza downtown, Tapas Tree Grill has brought a delicious new twist to Silver City’s culinary scene, offering dishes inspired by street food from around the world.
“We love to travel, and we never eat at chain restaurants” Co-owner and head chef David Chapman said. “We’ll eat at local food trucks, street venders, or flea markets and I love it.”
It’s easy to see this global inspiration with dishes such as the Thai Noodle Bowl, the Vietnamese Pork Crepe, and Moroccan Kefta. That’s just to name a few of the many tempting options at Tapas Tree Grill.
Students dining at Tapas Tree Grill are sure to enjoy the globally inspired menu no matter their tastes or appetite. Being just a quick walk away from campus makes Tapas a great choice for lunch or for a quick snack. The variety of the menu means there is something for everyone whether its burgers, noodles, crepes, or one of the daily specials.
“We’re trying to welcome students,” Co-owner Kevin Hubbs said. “Silver City doesn’t look like a college town. We believe in participating with the college and the students, so we try to keep our prices low.”
True to their word, most menu items are less than ten dollars, adding good value to great food. As if that wasn’t enough, Tapas Tree Grill offers students and staff with their university ID a special 10% discount.
“We’re excited to be a part of downtown and we want to help bring in fresh blood to the area,” Chapman said.
You can expect to see bigger things coming from Tapas Tree Grill in the future. “This is just a stepping stone,” both men said, “We’re hoping to grow and open another restaurant.”
For now though, they’re working to provide Wi-Fi to customers and set up a Twitter account. “We plan to tweet our daily specials and any special discounts to our followers,” Hubbs said.
