Santa Teresa, NM- The back end of the semester can often be the most stressful and trying times for any student, but imagine facing it at the tender age of five years old. Juan Pablo Murillo is a five year old Early Childhood Education major from Santa Teresa, NM who is nearing the end of his time at WNMU.
Juan Pablo started taking classes at Western when he was only a year old and through his hard work and dedication, has been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout all four years of his college career.
“Juan Pablo works very hard on having the best grades,” Arlean, Juan Pablo’s mother, told the press. “He has a 4.0 GPA and as his mother, I am very proud of him. While I cannot stand the every day crying, I’m excited for his accomplishments.”
Juan Pablo found his passion for Early-Childhood Education when he began attending pre-school and began spending time and playing with his classmates. Some of Juan Pablo’s inspirations and role models include Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, as well as Connor, Amaya and Greg from PJ Masks.
When Juan Pablo isn’t focusing on his studies, he can be found playing in the dirt. He also loves going to the park and has been known to cry if he sees a McDonalds and doesn’t receive a happy meal. He is also a proud animal lover, and according to his mother, usually prefers to work on his assignments at the El Paso Zoo.
Juan Pablo will join his fellow Mustangs on the stage during Spring Commencement this coming May, graduating from Western New Mexico University with the highest honors.
