Silver City, NM- Campaigns for prospective student government members will officially begin on Monday, April 9th and last until Sunday, April 15th.
A panel of students in the running will be held on Monday, April 16th in the J. Cloyd Miller Library at 6:30 pm, where The Mustang and representatives of the current student government will ask questions about each candidate’s plans should they take office in the 2018-2019 academic year. All students are welcome to attend.
Voting will be held on Tuesday, April 17th and Wednesday, April 18th on the 1st floor of the Student Memorial Building and in the Student Life Lounge at the Brancheau PE Complex between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm. Students, Faculty and Staff will also be able to vote online.
All candidates are responsible for their own campaigns. This includes the clean-up of campaign materials within 48 hours of the end of the election, or candidates will be subject to a hold on their student accounts and/or fined. Candidates can also be disqualified by the ASWNMU Supreme Court if their campaign material is found to be in poor taste, slanderous or libelous.
Last, no campaign materials may be present in voting areas. Also, ASWNMU requests that students refrain from putting campaign materials on doors or windows. No campaign material may be present in any computer lab on any WNMU campus.
