Students with Power: Register for ASWNMU Elections

Students who believe in the power of the voice of the students and want to make positive changes on campus should consider running for office in this year’s election for an Associated Students of Western New Mexico University student government position.

ASWNMU represents the students’ interests, safeguards academic freedom and student rights, provides campus events and activities, and promotes student morale. Register to participate in this year’s election for a position on ASWNMU if this sounds like something that would interest you!

Registration forms will be available to all students and must be received by the Registrar’s Office no later than Friday, April 5th by 4:00pm.

In order to be a candidate for the election, students must meet these requirements: all candidates must be current WNMU students, all candidates must be in good academic standing with the university, all candidates must have and maintain a cumulative 2.75 institutional grade point average with WNMU or a 2.75 cumulative grade point average transferred from a previous institution for new students.

Candidates will be responsible for their own campaigning for the election after they are registered and clean-up of their campaign materials must be done following the election.

Good luck to all students participating in this year’s ASWNMU election! Be sure to review the election rules and guidelines and the ASWNMU Constitution before registering. For more information about ASWNMU positions and duties, visit aswnmu.wnmu.edu or visit members of our student government in their ASWNMU offices of the third floor of the student memorial building.
